This role is pivotal in identifying and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and other interest groups.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and prioritise key stakeholders relevant to the company's operations and objectives

Develop strategies for engaging with stakeholders through various channels, including meetings, workshops, and community events

Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders through regular communication and engagement

Serve as a mediator in resolving conflicts and addressing disputes between the company and stakeholders

Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership with stakeholders to advance shared goals and objectives

Gather feedback and insights from stakeholders to inform decision-making and strategy development

Provide training and support to internal teams on effective stakeholder engagement practices

To succeed in this role, you need to be proficient in conflict resolution techniques and problem-solving will be essential in navigating disagreements and finding mutually acceptable solutions.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, public relations, political science, international relations, or a related field

More than five years' experience dealing with extractive industry external/community relations or similar

Proven experience in stakeholder relations, public affairs, community engagement, or related roles

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders

Proficiency in conflict resolution techniques and problem-solving

Sound understanding of relevant local and national laws, regulations, and policies

Willing to be placed in Sumbawa and work on a 12-month contract basis
