Responsibilities:

To supervise and direct the activities of company maintenance (electrical - electrician) personnel;

Ensuring electrical systems meet quality standards; Inspecting electrical installations, components, and wiring for compliance with safety and quality standards;

Maintain and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems; Inspecting HVAC systems for functionality, safety, and efficiency;

Supervise employees of the unit/work group to ensure that all jobs are completed to the required standard.

Plan the daily work schedule and order materials and parts required to enable client needs to be met and resources used efficiently.

Liaise with and coordinate field and workshop activities with other maintenance supervisor, planners and production personnel to resolve problems and set maintenance priorities.

Schedules work orders, preventive maintenance, equipment, employee vacations and training.

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Have minimum 7 years’ experience as a Supervisor/ Engineer Electric Maintenance Facility in the mining industry; Has an equivalent combination of training and experience are in preventive maintenance necessary;

Experience in Domestic electrical installations including white-goods, area lighting and general power distribution experience is essential;

Light industrial electrical installations experience is essential ; Have some experience on PLC and instrumentation

Preferable have knowledge of Medium voltage power distribution and reticulation, Sewage Treatment and Water Treatment Plant electrical controls operation, Three-phase power supply, motor control and protection and Generators up to 1,500kva

Hold an operational inspector certificate or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of positions; poses relevant technical inspector certificate

Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.
