Control Room Operator - Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP) PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara Sumbawa NTB

Amman Mineral Industries has a Sulphuric Acid Plant attached to each of its flash smelter to process the Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) released by the smelters to Sulphuric Acid of international standard having 98.5% concentration. The Sulphuric Acid is transferred through a pipeline to storage tanks located near the smelter and near the jetty for shipment through tanker ships to domestic and international markets. 

 

This role is responsible for checking process parameters and quality parameters for the conversion of the  Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) to Sulphuric Acid  at the Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP) of Amman Mineral Industri under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor. It is critical for this role to conduct routine check of the process parameters and output quality to partner compliance with Standard Operating Processes and Quality indices and all process parameters. Criticality is to monitor achievement of optimum conversion of SO2 to sulphuric acid. Upstream is batch process and downstream is continuous, requiring adjustment of parameters in the control room to match SO2 content variation.

 

Some of your duties will include:

Verifying process parameters with respect to the operation of SAP and GCP

Verifying process parameters with respect to the conversion of Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) to Sulphuric Acid and the quality specifications of the Sulphuric Acid  

Verifying compliance with SOPs and Quality norms

Escalating deviations in machine performance to the engineering teams for initiating condition monitoring and predictive maintenance 

Updating daily log with respect to process parameters and quality indices 

 

Requirements:

Diploma Engineer/ Trade certificate in Chemical/ Metallurgy/ Process Engineering 

Experience in process plants (3-5 years with Diploma or 7-10 years with certificate)

Domain knowledge of acid production, smelter operation 

Planning and organization skills

Analytical decision making

Interpersonal effectiveness and Conflict management
