AYANA Hospitality is excited to announce an opportunity for a Commis Hot & Cold Kitchen at AYANA Komodo. As a Commis, you will work under the guidance of senior chefs to assist in the preparation and presentation of a variety of dishes, both hot and cold. This role offers a unique chance to learn and grow in a beautifully scenic environment, surrounded by a team dedicated to culinary excellence.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the recipes and specifications provided by the senior chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Prepare ingredients and assist with mise en place for both hot and cold kitchen stations
Participate in food plating and presentation activities to ensure high-quality cuisine
Support the kitchen team in maintaining a smooth workflow and effective communication
Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
Learn and apply new cooking techniques and methods as directed by senior staff
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred, but a passion for cooking and willingness to learn is essential
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
High school diploma or equivalent required, culinary school or formal training in a related field is a plus
