Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educators to join our team of bilingual kindergarten teachers to create a rich curriculum inspired by our core values of learning, play, nature, and community.
Our kindergarten is dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of children, predominantly drawing inspiration from the principles of Reggio Emilia, where every child’s innate curiosity and creativity are nurtured and celebrated, leading to a strong sense of belonging.
The kindergarten teacher will work collaboratively with a partner to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for a class of 12 students aged 3-6 years old ( one class = 3-4 years and one class = 5-6 years) from a variety of countries, home languages, and backgrounds.

has experience in International Schools.
has strong knowledge of primary subjects including literacy, math, and science.
has excellent communication skills for interacting with children, coworkers and families.
is patient, flexible and is able to multitask.
Timeline
Position starts on January 6, 2025 (the first day of term).
3 month trial period from January until March 2025. Once the trial has been passed an indefinite term contract will be issued.
It is required to have relocated to the island a few days before the start date to get settled and to find long term accomodation.
Responsibilities
Curriculum development and teaching
Engage in teaching basic skills such as letter recognition, shapes, color, number, personal hygiene, social skills, and science in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Develop and implement daily and weekly lesson plans that align with Reggio Emilia principles, fostering holistic development and meeting the individual needs and interests of each child.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students in active learning experiences, encouraging their curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Encourage environmental education by incorporating sustainability practices, outdoor exploration, and connections to the natural world into the curriculum.
Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills and nurture cooperation and sharing.
Classroom management
Create a warm and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a sense of belonging and encourages collaboration, respect, and empathy among students.
Implement consistent routines and procedures that promote self-discipline, independence, and responsibility among students, while maintaining a balanced and flexible approach that adapts to individual needs.
Design and maintain an organized and aesthetically pleasing classroom environment that reflects the values of the Reggio Emilia philosophy, incorporating natural materials and open-ended resources.
Student support and progress monitoring
Foster positive relationships with students, families, and the wider community, emphasizing open communication, partnership, and involvement in the child's education.
Collaborate with your teaching partner to create and implement individualized developmental plans for each student.
Assess student progress through informal observations and ongoing documentation, utilizing various assessment strategies that capture their growth and development.
Create an end-of-term portfolio for families summarizing student growth.
Professional development and growth
Continuously engage in professional development opportunities to deepen knowledge of Reggio Emilia principles, incorporating the latest research and best practices into instructional strategies.
Attend weekly meetings and coaching sessions to review goals and receive feedback.
Community contributions
Support with daily and weekly cleaning tasks to keep the classroom, shared office, and campus well maintained.
Participate in planning and coordinating events that benefit the greater Gili Air community.
Occasionally step in to support educational activities at our sister site, the Play Cafe.
Desired qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an early childhood setting.
Relevant teaching certification or licensure.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English and Bahasa Indonesia fluently.
Experience working with young children in a classroom setting, ideally incorporating Reggio Emilia principles.
Strong understanding of child development, social-emotional learning, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset to embrace new ideas and approaches to teaching.
Knowledge of environmental education principles and practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching partner and other staff members.

A monthly gross salary between 6-8 juta IDR (include basic salary, meal allowance, housing allowance, tax allowance) based on your education and experience.
