Responsibilities:

• Assess potential security risks to the construction site and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

• Implement and manage access control systems to ensure that only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the site.

• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders in case of any incidents.

• Oversee the installation and maintenance of security equipment, such as CCTV systems, alarms, and perimeter fencing.

• Conduct regular security audits to identify and resolve security breaches or lapses.

• Develop emergency procedures and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for incidents like trespassing, theft, or vandalism.

• Manage the security budget and ensure that all security measures are cost-effective.

• Provide security training and briefings to construction staff and new hires.

• Prepare reports on security status and incidents for project managers and stakeholders.

• Other duties as assigned

Budget & Cost

• Propose and manage section budget and spending as per company policies to achieve efficient operation.

• Implement financial procedures and accountability in accordance with departmental financial plan. 

Continuous Improvement

• May propose new procedure to ensure effective and efficient Security Department.

People & Learning

• Build strong expertise in own field, clearly understand own and team objectives/goal, and deliver consistent high performance.

• Assist in the training and enforcing of strict radio and telephone procedures for all Security personnel including the contracted guard force.

Communication (Committees, Meeting, and Required Liaising)

• Establish and maintain close communication with colleagues within and between departments.

 

Requirements:

• A degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field is often preferred.

• Security certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) may be required or beneficial.

• Minimal 5 years’ experience in in security, preferably within the construction industry or similar environments.

• Experience with physical security, surveillance systems, and emergency response.

• Strong understanding of best practices in security protocols and procedures.

• Proficient in the use of technology such as security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.

• Excellent observation and analytical skills to detect unusual activities and potential threats.

• Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting to management.
