Role and Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and oversee Amman Minerals’ enterprise risk management and assurance programs.
Apply deep subject matter expertise and practical hands-on experience to provide operational enterprise risk oversight and challenges across Amman with a view to ensuring that material risks are managed in alignment with company risk appetite and overall strategy.
Assist functions in implementing risk management framework (RMF) and system (RMS) using Amman approved processes and tools – updating and improving as necessary.
Steward framework and processes that provide reasonable assurance that ESG controls across Amman are in place, working as intended by design and are having the desired effect on risks – i.e. modified to an acceptable level.
Conduct risk-based reviews of processes across functions and identify areas for improvement and areas of best practice.
Facilitate relevant risk activities within business functions/subsidiaries to ensure efficient integration of appropriate data sources that inform risk-based decision making in relevant operational processes and procedures.
Support the Chair of the Risk Committee in the administration of meetings and follow up actions.
Prepare quarterly risk management reports for senior management and the board of directors.
Liaise with business leaders on risk and control reporting and other initiatives, including key enterprise risks and emerging risks.
Lead ad-hoc analysis and presentations on operational risk topics in support of relevant functional leader.
Assure alignment of risk management framework and risk management system with other Amman level documents and management systems.
Monitor the status and performance of Company risk management systems to identify appropriate response to ESG risks that could impact the Company.
Advise senior management on the development and improvement to existing Risk strategies and systems to achieve objectives and targets.
Provide VP ESG, Sustainability & Risk with relevant and timely information on monitoring, reviewing, audit and assurance processes, which are required to align and comply with relevant Company requirements and commitments.
Administer reports on the measurement, analysis, and improvement progress on key Company Risk strategy initiatives to relevant internal and external stakeholders, with support of enterprise-wide systems, where required.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in related job field (e.g. engineering, science).
A Masters degree in a related job field (e.g. engineering, science), or leadership/business administration.
Associated courses relating to Enterprise Risk.
At least 15 years of working experience in heavy industry/mining.
At least 7 years of working experience in a similar risk management role.
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing an Enterprise Risk Management framework across an organization.
Well-versed in ISO 31000 risk management.
Strong emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively – through written, verbal and presentation – thereby conveying a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences (Communication).
Ability to develop organization-wide content and materials that will be delivered by others (Communication).
Ability to manage conflict well, resolve issues and develop relationships (Conflict resolution).
Ability to collaborate with other departments and functions (Collaboration).
Ability to interpret data, review reports, discuss research findings and provide recommendations.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and critical thinking skills combined with the ability to maintain focus on the big picture.
Proven ability for practical and innovative problem solving that resonates with business partners.
Proven ability to scope, manage and execute complex enterprise risk management initiatives with high quality and timely deliver.
Experience with and appreciation/understanding of managing cultural norms and differences.
