The role of Senior Supervisor – FSF / FCF is responsible for supervising the production of copper at the Flash Smelting Furnaces as per stipulated volumes and quality standards for supply to the copper anode section. It involves supervising that copper concentrate from material handling plant is conveyed to the steam drier and thereafter to the furnace feed system for smelting in the flash furnace to produce matte and slag.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
Supervising operations of the FSF and FCF to achieve the targeted production of blister copper and slag as per specifications and quality standards
Supervising accurate and continuous data recording, root cause analysis and corrective action
Compliance & Sustainability
Conducting risk analysis and supervising mitigation action
Supervising good housekeeping across the FSF and FCF areas
Supervising improvement initiatives
Profitability and Cost Optimisation
Supervising budgeted copper recovery to maximise the same
Supervising achievement of budgeted efficiencies with respect to FSF and FCF operations to minimise rejection of blister copper
Supervising utilisation of resources including spares and consumables vis a vis consumption norms with respect to FSF and FCF operations to keep cost of production within budget
Customer Centricity
Supervising achievement of specified quality of blister copper and granulated slag and timely delivery to the anode section.
Facilitating cross functional collaboration with the Anode Plant, other process plants, maintenance teams and the Batu Hijau concentrator to expedite solutions at all levels
Supervising timely isolation of areas within the FSF and FCF sections for maintenance
Talent Management
Supervising deployment of optimum manpower at the FSF and FCF sections through continuous improvement in productivity of team members
Tracking performance of the FSF and FCF teams and coaching for improvement
Identifying training needs and training of all team members of the FSF and FCF sections to enhance technical and behavioural competencies
Qualifications:
Graduate Engineer in Chemical / Metallurgy / Process Engineering or similar field
Minimum 7 years in smelter operations with at least 3-5 years experience of leading teams
Domain knowledge of smelting operations
Understanding of quality systems and process control tools
Understanding of flash furnaces will be an added advantage
Interpersonal effectiveness and Conflict management
