Job Description:
Splicing, splice repairs, terminations and maintenance of 33kV high-voltage multi core and core power cables.
Pull, rack and secure high voltage cables in manholes, conduit, tunnels, and vaults.
Install electrical equipment required for underground distribution systems.
Locate and repair or clear trouble in underground systems.
Bend, install, maintain and repair all types of conduits.
Work with distribution system maps and feeder maps, cut sheets to identify switching and tagging for power dispatches to de-energize underground conductors..
Understand the principles of VLF and Tan Delta test procedures on power cables and equipment.
Inspect works completed by external contractors.
Ensure all work carried out is done so in a safe manner and conforms to the company and site HSE standards, including using the correct safety equipment for their respective jobs e.g. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and all other plant and equipment is used in a safe manner.
Ensure the work environment is in a safe condition and conforms to the HSE and company regulations.
Create the work progress reporting that contains progress of construction works such as sum of materials usage, work hours, work completion targets, work description on the day they work, including report any safety, environmental, health, quality, and/or security issues to Leading Hand.
Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Superior and/or management within known skills, knowledge and capabilities.
Qualifications:
Minimal graduated from Vocational High Scholl/equivalent with Electrical Major.
Minimal 3 years experience as Technician with continuous working track record of successful 33kV or greater Heat Shrink / Cold Shrink splicing and jointing projects.
Current and valid certified cable splicing and termination certification.
Speciality of 33kV and above high-voltage power cables used in underground distribution and electrical systems.
A proven track record of at least 30 or more complete cable splices using 33kV 3Core SWA 3M Heat Shrink Cable Terminations.
Good in communications skills (oral & written), analytical skills, and problem-solving skills.
Pass strict Project MCU.
