Some of your duties will include:
Responsible to oversee all aspects of contract management for the Process Expansion Project. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and maintaining strong relationships with contractors and suppliers during the expansion of the mineral processing plant. The successful candidate will coordinate closely with project stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations align with project timelines, budgets, and standards.
Contract Administration:
Draft, review, and manage contracts related to engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases.
Ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records of all contractual correspondence and documentation.
Contract Negotiation:
Support negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to secure favorable terms and resolve disputes.
Assess and advise on potential risks in contracts and recommend mitigation strategies.
Monitoring and Compliance:
Track contract performance and adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Prepare reports for management detailing contract performance and any deviations.
Claims and Change Management:
Identify, assess, and manage claims, variations, and change orders.
Coordinate with legal and financial teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Act as the primary point of contact for contract-related issues between project management, legal, procurement, and external contractors.
Facilitate regular progress meetings to ensure alignment on contract execution.
What skills and experience do you need?
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Law, or a related field.
At least 7-10 years of experience in contract administration for large-scale EPC projects, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard EPC contract frameworks; Familiarity with contract laws and regulations applicable to the mining and construction industries.
Certified Contract Management Professional (CCMP) or equivalent; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an added advantage.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; Attention to detail and organizational skills; Understanding of safety and environmental compliance in mining operations; Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate. Proficiency in contract management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to work in remote mining project locations.
