Manager Drill & Blast – Underground / Open-Pit is responsible for managing all drilling and blasting activities in a large scale & underground or open-pit Mining Company. This includes designing and implementing drilling and blasting programs that ensure safe and efficient production while adhering to company and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement drilling and blasting programs that ensure safe and efficient production while adhering to company and regulatory requirements.
Manage drilling and blasting contractors, including selection, contract negotiation, and monitoring of performance.
Ensure all drilling and blasting activities are performed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
Develop and manage drilling and blasting budgets, including cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
Work collaboratively with other departments such as geology, engineering, and operations to optimize drill and blast designs and operations.
Manage and develop drilling and blasting personnel, including training, coaching, and performance management.
Ensure all drilling and blasting equipment is properly maintained and utilized to maximize efficiency and safety.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Prepare reports on drilling and blasting activities, including production, safety, and budget metrics.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
Have middle level operational inspector certificate (POM) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.
A minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience in drilling and blasting in a mining environment, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Experience in underground mining or open-pit operations is highly desirable.
Proven track record of designing and implementing successful drilling and blasting programs.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining operations.
Technical understanding and experience of mining operations, including load and haul processes, equipment, and maintenance.
Strong technical knowledge of drilling and blasting practices and technologies.
Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and best practices.
Strong understanding of drilling and blasting principles, practices, and technologies.
Familiarity with underground or open-pit mining operations and related equipment.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining operations.
Familiarity with budgeting and cost control principles.
Knowledge of relevant software applications, such as blasting design software and mine planning software.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
