Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of client construction projects. This role involves coordinating with external contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. The Project Manager will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication, satisfaction, and alignment with their vision. Additionally, the role requires applying value engineering principles to optimize project costs and functionality without compromising quality or client expectations.
Job Description:
Planning and Coordination
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones.
Establish clear timelines and allocate resources effectively.
Prepare and manage the project budget, ensuring cost control and adherence to the approved budget.
Handle financial forecasting and reporting.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Regularly update risk assessments.
Allocate and manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Oversee all construction activities to ensure adherence to the project plan, specifications,
and standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
Implement quality control measures to meet required standards and specifications.
Address quality issues promptly.
Monitor project progress against the schedule.
Ensure timely completion of all tasks and take corrective actions if delays occur.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Promote a safe working environment and address safety concerns immediately.
Communication and Collaboration
Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, including clients, contractors,
subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
Provide regular project updates and reports.
Lead and manage the project team, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
Provide guidance, support, and motivation to team members.
Address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise during the construction process.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Ensure transparency and accountability in all project activities.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and permits.
Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and inspections.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements.
Implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Additional Responsibilities
The Project Manager may be required to undertake other responsibilities not listed above, which are necessary for the successful completion of the project. These additional tasks will be assigned according to the needs of the project and the organization, and the Project Manager is expected to perform them diligently and effectively
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
Demonstrated experience in value engineering and cost optimization strategies.
Familiarity with building codes, safety standards, and construction regulations.
Experience working with external contractors and managing multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Financial acumen to manage budgets and cost estimation.
