Head of Electrical Transmission & Distribution PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara Sumbawa Barat NTB

The purpose of this position is to provide strategic leadership in the areas of smart grid technology, SCADA systems, and T&D operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of energy while fostering innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

 

Some of your duties will include:

Responsible for managing the Batu Hijau electrical grid, overseeing power dispatching, and ensuring reliable site-wide electrical services

To lead our initiative in advancing smart grid technologies, optimizing SCADA systems, and enhancing T&D operations. 

Responsible for developing and executing strategies that integrate advanced technologies into our electrical grid, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.

Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for smart grid, SCADA, and T&D initiatives.

Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive smart grid strategies, SCADA systems, and T&D operations to enhance efficiency and reliability, that aligns with the company's goals.

Develop and enhance strategic plans for power distribution load management and power plant generation to support the life-of-mine requirements.

Oversee the integration of advanced technologies such as IoT, AI, and data analytics into smart grid systems.

Ensure the SCADA systems are optimized for real-time monitoring and control of T&D operations.

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Manage large-scale projects related to smart grid implementation, SCADA upgrades, and T&D enhancements.

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and technology vendors.

Operate and maintain the Batu Hijau electrical grid for reliable and efficient performance, utilizing the smart grid system, which includes GIS, AIS, SAS, T&D, high-voltage equipment, distribution equipment, and SCADA/ILS systems.

Provide comprehensive electrical services and technical support to all site-wide departments, covering new installations, testing, commissioning, engineering reviews, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting of electrical issues.

Maximize the availability of power grid assets by minimizing planned downtime to the essential required levels, ensuring operational continuity.

Enhance the reliability of power grid assets by thoroughly investigating and aiming to eliminate unplanned downtime.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to smart grid, SCADA, and T&D.

Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory bodies as needed.

Oversee the ongoing development, management, and evaluation of manpower resources, as well as operating and capital budgets, for the Smart Grid, Power Dispatch, and Site Electrical Service teams.

Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

What skills and experience do you need?

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, or related field.

Have a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience in progressive technical and supervisory experience. Experience in the management and administration of budgets and financial controls in a multinational company

Preferred a registered professional electrical engineer.

Preferred Has SKTTK certificate for this position

Demonstration of outstanding management, human relations and technical skills.

Demonstration in participation of management/supervisory training development programs.

Knowledge of grid operations, renewable energy integration, and energy storage systems

Strong understanding of SCADA architecture, Smart Grid technologies, and power dispatch operations.

Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to operate and maintain smart grid, power dispatch and SCADA/ILS

Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Ability to manage team and collaboratively with other departments

Ability to analyse data and identify trends to recommend financial decisions

Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.

Ability to develop a strong sense of teamwork within group and with other facility groups.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; good analytical; conflict resolution. 

Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Strong computer skills and be competent in all Microsoft Office software programs, as well as project-specific software and all business and maintenance-related software functions;

Able to work on-site with regular working hour schedule (no roster).
