Some of your duties will include:

This role will responsible to coordinating with various departments, analyzing project specifications, and ensuring that all estimates are accurate and aligned with company standards. This role will play a critical role in project planning and execution, helping to secure profitable contracts and ensuring project feasibility.

Lead and mentor a small team of estimators, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and accurate completion of estimates.

Develop detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.

Use specialized software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in estimation processes.

Analyze project requirements and constraints to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.

Conduct site visits to gather necessary information and assess project conditions.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather input and ensure accurate estimates.

Coordinate with procurement and subcontracting teams to obtain quotes and negotiate prices.

Prepare and present detailed estimation reports and summaries to senior management.

Maintain records of estimates, including assumptions, methodologies, and supporting data.

Continuously review and refine estimating processes and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Stay updated with industry trends, cost fluctuations, and new technologies that impact cost estimation.

Assist in the development of project budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor actual project costs against estimates and recommend corrective actions as needed.

What skills and experience do you need?

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field (Master’s preferred); Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is highly desirable

Have minimum 15 - 18 years of experiences in in civil engineering and project management, with at least 5 years of experience in a managerial role as Manager Estimating - Construction & Civil Engineering in the mining or construction industry; Experience working on development projects in copper and/or gold mining is highly preferred.

Proven track record of successfully managing a team and delivering accurate cost estimates; Proficient in estimating software and tools; In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labour costs.

Strong leadership and team management skills; Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate
