This role is required to maintain the overall PI system making updates and ensuring security through server backups and disaster recovery plans, delivering safe and secure interfacing with various networks. An important aspect of the role is maintenance and championship of the PI point naming convention, making regular audits of PI point configuration to ensure efficient and suitable data capture and storage.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence

Maintaining the PI systems for accurate and continuous data recording, root cause analysis and corrective action 

Recording accurate and continuous data and generating timely reports with respect to SOP and WI implementation, root cause analysis and corrective action 

Compliance & Sustainability

Reporting need for modification of equipment for the PI systems to improve data capture and network reliability and achieve greater efficiencies 

Partnering implementation of safety culture by providing data and root cause analysis of incidents involving safety and environment stipulation by leveraging the PI system

Profitability and Cost Optimisation

Analysing sufficiency of PI systems and providing inputs for upgrade / license expansion / procurement of new PI products

Tracking optimum utilisation of the PI system towards cost control initiatives

Customer Centricity

Providing data and analyses leveraging the PI system for all process plants operations and related engineering teams 

Undertaking cross functional collaboration at all levels across functions to expedite solutions with respect to steam systems and other utilities

Qualifications:

Graduate in Chemical Engineering; Mineral Processing; Pyrometallurgy; Metallurgical Engineering; Process Engineering OR Graduate IT or Computer Science or similar qualification but with a diploma or similar in some form of chemical, process or manufacturing engineering

3+ years at PI sysadmin level; fully conversant with PI point configuration; PI notifications particularly SMS; hardware selection and installation; AF implementation; contractor management; installation and setup of new data sources (LIMS, SQL, other). 

3-7 years of experience in process plants
